Just be Yourself!

You know, there is something really easy to forget. It’s okay to be yourself. It is just so easy to see a person you admire and to start wanting to be just like them. Now don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with seeing a person who is honest, kind and smart and just has so many great character qualities, you can’t help but want to be like them. You start thinking that you need to have the same interests, preferences, and talents as they do, instead of striving to improve your own character qualities (which is great!). I am guilty of this! I’m sure many of us are, or have been at least once in our lifetime!

But then I realized- We all have our own amazing gifts and talents that our amazing God gave us! We can’t be afraid to let them shine, ’cause what kind of life are you living if you shove yourself into a little box and suffocate your beautiful self? Jesus loves you! He loves you more than you could ever know and imagine! Why is it so hard for us to remember that? He wants us to let our life shine! So who cares what the cute guy (or gal) over there thinks? You have to see and believe, it’s okay to be yourself. Find what you love doing, what God’s plan is for you, and spend the rest of your life doing it! You won’t be happy unless you do. When God created you, He made a beautifully unique and special human being, and He has an amazing plan and purpose for you here on earth. I mean, if He didn’t, you wouldn’t be here! So don’t be afraid to walk out that door with confidence knowing that you are loved, you are special, and have endless strength through Christ Jesus our Lord! Through Him, you can do anything. Don’t worry what the world, your crush, or your friends think, get out there and do your best, whether you’re working on a high school essay, dealing with a difficult coworker, or tackling that ridiculously long shopping list.

God bless, and please, never forget to let that light of yours shine!
