Herb Challenge! Week #2

Thank you for your comment Rita: “I am wondering if there is an herb especially good for mosquito bites. Mine really itch and I don’t want to scratch them”

Well good news, Rita! Calendula and Plantain are great for mosquito bites. Plantain is a drawing herb, which means it draws out the cause of the itching, and Calendula is a cooling and healing herb, so it soothes the bites and helps them heal.

Combine herbs in a glass jar, and pour 1 cup of hot water over them. Let steep for 30 minutes.

Pour the water and herbs into a blender, and blend until the herbs are ground up.

Let steep for another 30 minutes, or until cool.

Strain the liquid through a fine mesh strainer. DSC_0665.JPG

Pour the resulting clear herbal infusion into a ice cube tray and freeze.

To use: Hold one “herb cube” over the bite.

Another option is to use Plantain infused oil on the bite (get it here) or look at this. Dad just used Plantain oil on a bug bite that was really bothering him, and it worked really well!

God didn’t leave us hanging with all the bugs around! He provided everything we need.

It’s still not to late to comment!
