How to Dry Herbs

Drying is one of the best ways to preserve herbs. There are a couple different methods, but I prefer the hanging method. It is good for flowers such as Calendula and Chamomile, and leaves like Peppermint and Lemon Balm. For roots and Plantain, you want to use a dehydrator on a low setting, I use the 95 degree Fahrenheit setting on mine(the lowest it will go) .

  1. Harvest the herb that you want to dry.
  2. Strip the leaves off (only if you are drying a flower).

  4. Hang in a well-ventilated room until completely dry. Store in an airtight container. I use a mason jar. DSC_0545.JPG   Okay! There you have it. Have fun!
