DIY Herbal Deodorant

Inspired by one of Dad’s friends

Deodorant is one thing that you really want to be natural. You can read about all the chemicals it contains here.

Here is how all the ingredients work:

Coconut Oil is ant-bacterial,so it kills all the bacteria that causes odor in the first place.

Shea Butter is very nourishing to your skin, and is soothing to Eczema.

Baking Soda helps eliminate odor as well, and absorbs moisture.

Arrowroot Powder also absorbs moisture, and helps thicken the recipe.

Essential Oils are very anti-bacterial, and smell great!

Note: If you live in a warmer climate, you might want to add 1 teaspoon beeswax.

DIY Herbal Deodorant

2 Tablespoons Shea Butter

1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil

3 Tablespoons Baking Soda

1 Tablespoon Arrowroot Powder

1 drop Thyme EO

4 drops Peppermint EO

6 drops Lavender EO

2 drops Lemongrass EO

6 drops Tea Tree EO

5 drops Rosemary EO

In a small saucepan, combine the Shea Butter and Coconut oil. Heat over LOW heat (Shea butter gets grainy if overheated) until melted. Remove from heat and stir in the baking soda, arrowroot powder, and Essential Oils. Pour into a small jar and let cool until solidified.

To Use: Get a pea-sized amount of the deodorant, and rub it in under your arms. Rub it in all the way.
